dishonor

  1. སྨོད།

    p. སྨད། f. སྨད། imp. སྨོད།

    Biblical: to accuse, criticize, mock, curse or dishonor: ངས་​ཡབ་​ལ་​བསྟོད་​པས་​ཁྱེད་​ཚོས་​ང་​ལ་​སྨད་​དོ། I honor my Father and you dishonor me (Jn. 8:49), སྨད་​པར་​འགྱུར་​བ་​ཞིག་​འདེབས་​ནས་​གཟི་​བརྗིད་​དང་​ལྡན་​པ་​ཞིག་​ལང་​། it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory (1 Cor. 15:43), བསྟོད་​རུང་​སྨད་​རུང་​། through glory and dishonor (2 Cor. 6:8).

    Buddhist: གང་​ཞིག་​དེ་​ལ་​ཞེན་​གྱུར་​པ། །དེ་​ཉིད་​ཁྱོད་​ཀྱིས་​ཤིན་​ཏུ་​སྨད། whoever is attached to [it, you have] declared him lost [lit. reviled, dishonored him] (LKT 8).

  2. དམའ་​འབེབས།

    Biblical: to dishonor or humiliate: རང་​གི་​དབུ་​དེ་​དམའ་​འབེབས། dishonors his [own] head (1 Cor. 11:4 SV).

  3. གྲགས་​པ་​མེད།

    [lit. without reputation]

    Biblical: dishonor: ཁྱེད་​རྣམས་​ཀྱི་​གྲགས་​པ་​ཆེ། ངེད་​རྣམས་​ལ་​གྲགས་​པ་​མེད། you are honored, we are dishonored (1 Cor. 4:10 SV), གྲགས་​པ་​མེད་​པ་​ཞིག་​བཏབ་​ཀྱི། དཔལ་​དང་​ལྡན་​པ་​ཞིག་​ལང་​བར་​འགྱུར། it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory (1 Cor. 15:43 SV).
